I’ve just discovered a gem of a new music video on YouTube. It was only added to the site yesterday. In fact, it’s a new music video of an old performance my Amy Winehouse singing at the 2004 Mercury Music Prize. This new music video shows what Amy looked like before she began abusing hard drugs. She looks so much healthier and more vibrant than she does today. Amy also looks much happier than she does now. You see her smile and enjoy performing, which is rare these days. If you watch other videos of Amy singing in the past year or so, you will see that she looks miserable and bored. Additionally her eyes now look much older than they should. I love the song Amy is singing on this new music video. 'Take The Box' sounds like old school jazz and is far less commercial than her latest releases. This new music video makes me feel quite sad for Amy Winehouse. It shows us the woman she used to be, and the person she could be again if she would stop the drug abuse.
