I don't like every new music video I find on the YouTube website. Amateurs who are trying to promote themselves perform a lot of the new music on this site. Other new music is mass-produced cheesy pop created to make money off the parents of adolescents whose musical taste has not yet developed. Now and again, I come across a new music video I adore. The best new music video on YouTube at the moment is the above clip. It shows Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova performing their song Falling Slowly live at the Academy Awards on February 24. The song actually won an Oscar for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture. It comes from Hansard and Irglova's film Once. Irish Glen Hansard and Check-born Marketa Irglova are professional and personal partners. They slowly fell in love while filming Once despite an age gap of 18 years. I really like this new music video. The lyrics are beautiful and the harmonies are enchanting. If you watch closely, you'll see Glen give Marketa the occasional glance while they perform. These glances make his feelings for her abundantly clear. I think the song Falling Slowly deserves the Oscar it won.
