I have found this new music video of Outkast's Hey Ya that is performed by folk singer, Mat Weddle of Obadiah Parker. The performance that I attached was actually created over a year ago but it is new to me because I had never seen it before. I never thought about hip hop songs being interpreted by folk singers but after hearing this Outkast rendition I really like the idea. It doesn't hurt that Mat Weddle has a great voice. The energy of the uncut music video of this song blended with the live folk performance of Hey Ya is the perfect blend of the two genres. I listened to some of the other music that he and his band have created and this is by far my favorite song. His band also does a cover of Radiohead's Idiotechque.

I like the mellow version of this song better than the original, what are your thoughts? Great vocals. The folk singer sort of looks like the comedian Zach Galifianakis with a bushier beard too. The first version of the song really sells the folk feel. I hope this is a new music video for you as well.
