Recently I have come across a fairly new music sound that the band calls powerpop. It is a new band, by the name of Air Raid Anthem, that has been together for just about a year and have just started performing live shows about 3 months ago. Their music and news is on Myspace and You Tube and as of last night they just put on a new music video. It is only a short recording, an uncut music video, of their performance a few nights ago at a Las Vegas club. Granted it is not professionally done and the sound is a little off, but the action and music is contagious. They have the crowd in the palm of their hands and even in this uncut music video you can feel the energy behind their songs. At the top of their site are the recorded versions of their songs so you can hear what they actually sound like, undistorted. It is great fun to explore different sites and come across new music video clips that give you a little taste of what artists are exploring in their worlds of music. Hopefully this new band will be able to make some professional new music video tapes and their increasing fan base will be able to download music video clips with a powerpop flavor.
