Though it doesn't happen very often, now and again I stumble across a new music video that I enjoy the very first time I watch it. It happened today when watched this new music video.  In this new music video, Afro-German singer songwriter Ayo performs a song called Down On My Knees. The music for this song reminds me of the reggae beats of Bob Marley. Ayo has a strange and unique sounding voice. Though slightly nasal, it has a quality that stays in your mind for a long time after you hear it.
In this new music video Ayo sings about losing her boyfriend to another woman. On her knees begging him to stay, she reminds him that she is the one who has always been there for him and that nobody could love him more than she.Though the words to this song certainly mirror reality, they make me cringe a little bit. I hope that Ayo is not singing about something she has actually done in real life. Begging is so humiliating. It's much better to walk away pretending it doesn't hurt. That way, you get to keep your pride.
